Sort, Wash, Roar Giveaway by Mama Likes This

The Sort, Wash, ROAR! Book Set Giveaway from Mama Likes This offers an English edition of Sort, Wash, ROAR! and the bilingual edition Clasifica, lava, ¡RUGE! Written by Songju Ma Daemicke and illustrated by Sian James, the books are published by Charlesbridge as part of its STEAMworks board book series. 📚

The Sort, Wash, ROAR! books follow a narrator and her twin brother, Anton, as they help Auntie Kate with laundry at the laundromat. Their task introduces sorting and classification through a familiar household routine. Laundry is divided into lights and darks, while multicolored items create another sorting question. The children’s hooded unicorn and dinosaur towels receive their own machine.

The story connects early mathematical thinking with everyday activities. Its laundry setting provides examples of grouping objects by shared characteristics, recognizing differences and organizing items into sets. The board book format is intended for babies, toddlers and preschoolers.

Both editions include back matter with additional information about sorting and classification, along with STEAM activities that extend the subject beyond the story. These materials give parents and caregivers further activities related to the concepts presented in the book.

The prize includes both language editions: the English book and the dual English/Spanish version. Together, they present the same laundromat story in two reading formats, with sorting, household routines and scientific and mathematical thinking at the center.
