You can enter a sweepstakes more than once only when its official rules allow it. The limit may apply to you, your household, an email address or an account—and it may reset each day, week, month or designated entry period. Read those conditions together before submitting again.
For example, one entry per household per day is a shared daily allowance. It does not give each person at the same address a separate daily entry.

Read the entry limit in three parts
Find the official rules on the sponsor’s entry page. Search for “limit,” “how to enter” and “entry period,” then answer these questions:
- How many? One entry, a fixed number, or additional entries for specified actions?
- For whom? Each person, household, email address or account? More than one restriction can apply.
- Over what period? The whole promotion, a calendar day, a waiting interval or dates listed in an entry-period table?
Then check whether the limit covers every entry method combined. A form that accepts another submission is not proof that the extra entry is allowed.
Single, daily, weekly and monthly entries
Single entry
If the rules allow one entry per person for the entire promotion, return visits do not create another allowance. Check whether a household restriction also applies.
As a historical example, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2026 Schedule Release rules allowed one entry per person across online and mail-in methods. Additional entries were void. That promotion ended May 25, 2026; the rules illustrate a limit, not an opportunity to enter now.
Daily entry
Check the sponsor’s definition of a day and its time zone. A calendar-day allowance and a requirement to wait 24 hours are different instructions.
For a hypothetical example, an entry at 9 p.m. followed by one at 8 a.m. the next morning is only 11 hours apart. That would be too soon under a 24-hour waiting rule, even though the calendar date changed. Under a calendar-day rule, check which date applies in the sponsor’s specified time zone.
The expired 2026 CLIF Run the World rules (PDF) defined a day using Eastern Time and allowed one regular entry per person per day. They separately allowed one additional entry during the promotion through either an email opt-in or a mailed alternative. Read the bonus section as well as the daily limit.
Weekly or monthly entry
Find the exact period boundaries. Do not assume “weekly” resets on Monday or means seven days after your last entry. For monthly limits, check whether the rules mean a calendar month and whether there is also a total cap.
The DietBet weekly drawing ending May 20, 2026 limited entries to one per entrant per week across its entry methods. The 2026 Sallie graduate scholarship rules (PDF) illustrate a monthly limit alongside a maximum for each multi-month sweepstakes. These are rules-reading examples, not recommendations to enter.
A weekly prize drawing does not, by itself, tell you how often you may submit. Check entry frequency and drawing frequency separately.
Person, household, email and social-account limits
Per person: A second email address does not turn you into a second entrant. Follow any identity and account restrictions alongside the entry allowance.
Per household: Check the sponsor’s household definition before someone else at your address enters. Separate names or email addresses do not override a shared household cap.
Per email address or social account: Read the rest of the rules before treating this as the only restriction. Do not use extra accounts, email aliases or another person’s details to get around a person or household limit.
The expired FourLeaf Ticket Tuesday 2026 rules combined a household limit with designated entry periods. Finding the entry form through a different social platform did not provide a separate allowance.
Also distinguish an entry limit from a prize limit. The former controls participation; the latter controls how many prizes someone may receive. One prize per household does not, on its own, mean one entry per household.
Do bonus entries and mail-in entries count separately?
Only if the rules say so. Look for an overall cap, a limit for each method and any conditions for bonus actions. Do not assume that an online entry plus a mailed entry equals two valid entries.

What if you accidentally enter twice?
Stop submitting and check the duplicate-entry provision. Keep any confirmation and contact the sponsor or administrator through its official contact channel if you need clarification. Do not submit again under another identity to try to correct the mistake.
The consequence depends on the rules. The Steelers example voided excess entries. The CLIF example disqualified entrants who used extra email addresses or other prohibited means to exceed the limit. Neither result should be assumed for every promotion.
Keep a short record before you return
Save the rules link, the applicable limit, your last submission time and the next permitted entry period. If the limit is shared by your household, coordinate before another person submits.
