Good Reading Magazine’s Win Scion competition offers a copy of Scion by Emma Lord, valued at $22.99. The novel is the second book in the Children of Fate trilogy and the sequel to Anomaly. 📚
The story follows Piper Manning, whose destiny is to save the world. After her mistakes in Eden, however, she struggles to see herself as a hero. Her new mentor, Raddock, provides guidance, but the task ahead still feels beyond her reach.
Piper also faces difficulties within her relationships. Her connection with Seth has become more complicated, Frankie is troubled by visions she cannot interpret, and Aaron’s grief presents a threat. A disturbing discovery then challenges Piper’s understanding of her situation, forcing her to consider her next steps and what accepting her fate means.
Its predecessor, Anomaly, received a Victorian Premier’s Literary Award, a NSW Literary Award and an Aurealis Award, and was shortlisted for an Australian Book Industry Award.
